AP/EN 4099 6.0 - Work Study opportunity at Brick Magazine

Applications are now open for a special opportunity for one Creative Writing or English 4th Year Honours student to enrol in a Work Study course at Brick magazine, an international journal of literary non-fiction based in Toronto. This is an unpaid 6.0 credit Work Study course. The student will

  • assist with the work of producing, publishing, and promoting one or two forthcoming issues
  • learn about the operation of a literary magazine
  • become acquainted with editing principles
  • have the opportunity to respond critically to the work Brick publishes

The successful candidate will work closely with the team at Brick over the course of the Fall-Winter 2020-21 semester as well as the faculty liaison, Prof. David Goldstein. The course requirements will include approximately 10 hours a week of work at Brick for 20-22 weeks between September 2020 and April 2021. The successful student will be expected to work with Prof. Goldstein to develop a reading list for the course and to write a short reflection paper (20-30 pages) on their experiences at the end of the course.
